Reformatting a USB Drive on a Mac

Insert the USB drive into any available USB slot on your Mac.
Warning: Formatting a USB drive will erase all data on the drive. Be sure to back up any files you want to keep on the drive before continuing.

Click the magnifying glass icon in the menu bar in the upper-right corner. This opens the Spotlight search feature.

Type “Disk Utility” in the search bar, then select the Disk Utility app.

Next, click on the Disk Utility app.

In the Disk Utility app, select your USB drive. It should be listed in the sidebar to the left in Disk Utility.

Click the erase button, (the icon that resembles a hard drive being erased with an eraser). It’s the middle button at the top of the Disk Utility app.

Use the drop-down menu next to “Format” to select “MS-DOS (FAT).”

Then use the drop-down menu next to “Scheme” to select “Master Boot Record.”

Finally, click the Erase button. Allow a few minutes for the process to complete. Do not remove the USB drive until the process is complete.

Your USB drive should now be compatible for use with the TVs.
