Connecting your device directly to the TV via HDMI

Before your lesson, confirm how your device can connect to the TV’s HDMI port.

Many modern Mac and PC computers come with an HDMI port. Simply plug the cable attached to the TV to the HDMI port on your computer.

If your device doesn’t have an HDMI port, you’ll need an adapter. At this time, the Farmington South Stake does not have adapters available in the library, so you’ll have to bring your own. Depending on your device, you may need one of the following common adapters:

On the right side of the TV, an HDMI cable should already be attached to the TV and plugged into HDMI 1.

Take the other end of the HDMI cable, and plug it into the HDMI port on your device, OR into the HDMI side of your adapter, then plug the adapter into your device.

The television’s remote is velcroed to the back of the TV.

If the television doesn’t automatically switch its input to your device, then using the television remote, press the “source” button and use the arrows to select “HDMI 1” as your input.

On your device, play the media you want displayed.

Your media should display on the TV.
